Hard Wear Reading

I can’t believe I have my first live book signing and reading today. It’s going to be so exciting. I honestly never thought I’d get here, as a published author with a story to tell and sell. It always just seemed like a crazy dream I’d never be able to achieve. There’s just so much luck involved. I wrote a great book, I genuinely believe that, but it took me years to find a literary agent and then a publisher. From there, the book took another year and a half just to get released. But finally, here I am, ready to read my book to a captivated audience.

If you want to come to this awesome book signing, just make your way to that hardware store close to Sandringham. I can’t remember its name, but it is the highest rated hardware store in the area, so it shouldn’t be too hard to find. I know that seems like an odd place for a book signing and reading, but it makes perfect sense when you know more about my book. So, let me tell you all about it.

My novel, Hard Wear, is set in Melbourne, with the protagonist working as a plumber. He’s grinding through daily life, nothing interesting happening until he visits a certain hardware and plumbing supply store. Cheltenham hardware stores are low on supply, but this hardware store happens to have just what he needs. That’s when he meets the love of his life, a model by the name of Sarah. Sarah needs to put together a costume for the upcoming Spring Fashion Show, which has the theme of labourers. She asks Bob (the protagonist) for help putting together a labourer costume.

So begins a wacky and fun adventure to put together the best costume for somebody who would need hardware supplies. Hence why I decided to call the book Hard Wear. If it sounds interesting to you, come check out my live reading today!
